I have always had a passion for fitness and enjoy anything challenging. From my early teens I have been involved in motorcycle off road racing. At age 44 (2014), I earned my Regional AMA #1 plate for cross country off road racing. I have been a part of CrossFit since 2013 and fell love with every aspect. The best part is the people and we are like a family here at Bars on Fire CrossFit. I truly believe in the CrossFit programming and enjoy teaching all aspects. We welcome all fitness levels here at BOF, to help increase their quality of life.
I started CrossFit in 2013, and with having no athletic background I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to do it. I was wrong. It didn’t take me long to become addicted to the workouts. I loved the feeling of accomplishment I had each day I left.
My passion turned into a business and I obtained my CrossFit Level 1 Cert in March of 2015 from Rogue facility in Ohio. I am excited to share my love and belief of the CrossFit program with everyone who walks in this door. My goal for you is to establish good habits through fitness and nutrition, while helping you reach your potential in and outside of the box.
I have a Medical Assistant degree and was a Staff Accountant for many years. As well as being a trainer, I am in charge of the day to day running of the gym. My husband Chris and I have two boys Chris (27) and Colin (21) along with two grandchildren.
For many years I was a volunteer Fitness Instructor at the YMCA in Martinsville. I taught a variety of classes such as step aerobics, water aerobics, kickboxing, circuit training and racket ball. I have been a member of Bars on Fire CrossFit for approximately two year and recently became a L1 CrossFit Trainer in 2015.
I enjoy almost any activity and try to lead a healthy lifestyle. My children, family, friends and God are my aspirations in life, and my motto is, You have to stand for something, or you will fall for anything. I have two children, Derek and Zack, who are the greatest accomplishments in my life.
